What
The Second Annual Jazz Half Marathon and "Run for the Children" Relay Challenge. The Half Marathon is a standard, 13.1 mile course stretching from the New Orleans Convention Center to Audubon Park and back. The Relay Challenge is composed of four-member teams who cover the same course in four approximately equal length segments.
When
The races start Saturday, October 30, 2010, 7:00 AM. The course is walker-friendly and is open for four hours. The post-race activities, including refreshments and entertainment, will start at 9:00 AM and continue until noon.
Where
New Orleans, LA. The race will start on Convention Center Blvd. at Girod St. and finish on S. Peters St. at Girod St. The majority of the course will be run on beautiful St. Charles Avenue.
Why
To raise funds for Children's Hospital, promote your health and fitness, and have a great time! And there's something in it for you, too. All registrants will receive a gender-specific New Balance Ndurance technical tee shirt and all finishers will receive a finishers' medallion and admission to a great post-race party (details to follow).
Who
The Jazz Half Marathon is presented by Grainger, Inc. and the "Run for the Children" Relay Challenge is presented by Merrill Lynch, benefiting Children's Hospital. The race director is Mike Cambre. And the race won't be successful without YOU.
