Hi all! I am running the 5k to support care for pediatric cancer patients in Louisiana. Children come from all corners of the state to receive treatment for cancer and blood disorders regardless of the family's ability to pay. That kind of work deserves our support. Cancer is such a scourge; let's do all we can to aid those in need. Funds raised help defray the cost of extended hospital stays, testing, chemotherapy, and even research in pediatric cancers.

Personally, I'm running in honor of my mother, Barbara. I'm sure she would be astounded to know I'm running any kind of race, I'm also sure she would be cheering me on. We've always been more book people than athletic types. Race day is October 29th, which happens to be my 42nd birthday. This will be a very special present.
